Well not a full day. After having breakfast at the B&B in De Haan, Belgium, Gereon, Maria, Daniel and I spent an hour or so at the beach (on the North Sea). Not knowing we would be doing this, I was dressed inappropriately, but I took off my shoes and socks, rolled up my pants and spent some time walking the beach and the nearby dunes.
Around mid-day we drove to Mechelen, Belgium to visit St. Rumbold Church. This is the church where the composer Flor Peeters spent about sixty years of his career, during which time he drew up the specifications for the current organ. We had a 4:00 p.m. appointment to spend some time on the organ. What an honor and privilege to play on that instrument. There are two video clips on my YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/1wu54SPTouU and https://youtu.be/dpwAP6UFT5k. Below are a few pictures of the church and organ facade.

Following our time on the organ bench, we ate dinner at an outdoor cafe in the shadow of St. Rumbold's and were serenaded with carillon music from the cathedral's carillon. We then had a long drive back, arriving at Maria Laach Abbey at 10:30 p.m.
