We arrived in Linz, Austria overnight and began a long day departing the ship at 8:00 a.m. for a two hour drive to Salzburg, Austria. At about the half way point we made a stop at Mondsee (Moon Lake) for a rest stop and photo opportunities as we were now in a more hilly area at the beginning of the Italian Alps.

We arrived in Salzburg shortly after 10:00 a.m. and met up with our local guides for a walking tour which lasted about two hours. We saw and/or visited such places as the house where Mozart was born as well as the house where his family lived when he was a bit older. There is still a very "old world" feel to this city and quickly became one of our favorites.

After the official tour we had free time for lunch and exploring more of the city on our own.

At 2:40 p.m. the group gathered back together and we walked to the Mozarteum University where we listened to four singers rehearse with their professor in a wonderful concert hall. Following this event we boarded our motor coaches for the drive back to Linz. We had to be on the coach designated for the choir as we did some rehearsing of the German text of one of the songs we will be singing on Sunday evening.
Arriving back on the ship around 6:15 p.m. we had time to freshen up before going to dinner. After dinner a local group from Linz (The Donau 3Klang) performed in the lounge. The group was made up of violin (Vera Krall), cello (Vera Dickbauer) and piano (Maria Raberger) and played a nice variety of music.

Once their performance was finished and they had departed the ship, we began sailing for Passau, Germany overnight as we ended Day Ten.
